Denver Golf Courses

With its abundance of sunshine, Colorado offers many opportunities to experience its beautiful, inviting golf courses.

At the foot of the Rocky Mountains, Applewood Golf Course (303-279-3003) has been recognized by the Audubon Society for its preservation of natural wildlife. This is a par 71 course is located in Golden at 14001 W. 32 nd Ave.

In Littleton, shoot for Arrowhead Golf Club (303-973-9614), set in the Red Rocks foothills.

City Park (303-295-4420) offers an 18-hole, par 72 course, plus a driving range.

As one of Colorado's premier public courses, Eagle Golf Club (1200 Clubhouse Dr., Broomfield, 303-466-3322) gets high marks for its adaptability to golfers of all skill levels with six lakes and 65 bunkers throughout. Designed by Dick Phelps, this 18-hole, par 71 course features a newly renovated clubhouse.

Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch (303-978-1800), was designed by renowned architect Scott Miller, and features natural grass areas, lakes and daunting water hazards. Featuring impeccable conditioning and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, this beautiful course is sure to become one of your favorites.

Evergreen Golf Course (303-674-4128), with a par of 69, boasts a lakeside setting

Highlands Ranch Golf has a convienient and challenging layout- (303-471-000)

Lone Tree Golf- was a country club, no public. (303-790-0202)

Park Hill (4141 East 35 Ave., 303-333-5411) just minutes from downtown Denver, offers views of mountains, city scapes and even wild fox. Experience Denver's largest all grass driving range. Full menu dining.

Red Hawk Ridge (2156 Red Hawk Ridge Drive, Castle Rock, 303-663-7150) is a Jim Engh-designed course, which features a 6,942-yard layout in the Rocky Mountain front range among spectacular vistas, abundant wildlife and rolling terrain.

Voted among the state's top ten courses, Thorncreek Golf Course features a beautiful 18-hole, par 72 championship design with rolling hills and a surprise at every turn (13555 N. Washington St., Thornton; 303-450-7055)
